The following report provides analysis of a survey conducted to gain insight into the Data Scientist/Data Analyst profession. The survey consisted of questions regarding income, coding language of choice, and job satisfaction.

Steps

  • Import Data table from web
  • Format, compile and clean the dataset (take care of blanks, unreasonable outliers, and performed text analysis).
  • Identified important metrics.
  • Statistical inference and graphical visualization to showcase the results and provide insights.

Summary of Hyposthesis and Findings

  • Data Scientists get paid higher salaries.
    • This case was true for US
    • For UK and Canada highest paying job title was Data Engineer
  • There is an inequality in income based gender.
    • While overall number of females in the indusctry is smaller than males, median salaries were close.
    • The highest pay for female was $185k but for males was $225k which shows there is some inequality to address here.
  • SQL is the mostly used language for data analysis.
    • Most survay takers did not consider SQL a programming langusge therefore Python was the most popular language amongst data professionals .
